Eating Disorder Treatments
What Are Eating Disorders?
Some individuals restrict eating and others binge and purge. Eating disorders are serious, potentially life-threatening conditions that affect a person’s emotional and physical health. The earlier a person with an eating disorder seeks treatment, the greater the likelihood of physical and emotional recovery is.
How Many People Have Eating Disorders?
How Can Neurofeedback Help?
Those with eating disorders display high levels of anxiety, which leads to overactivity in their brainwave functioning. They are especially prone to overthinking or repetitive thinking that results in a looping pattern of brain wave functioning (hyper coherence) as well as low functioning in areas related to self-regulation. Neurofeedback can help reduce overactive brain waves and normalize functioning to help retrain the brain and therefore reduce any symptoms of anxiety.
How Can Advanced Bio-Regulation (BRT) Help?
PEMF and Biofeedback are designed to help the Central Nervous System (CNS) to relax. Physiologically, the body is programmed to deal with stress first and healing second, so when we get the CNS to calm down, it promotes an environment where the body can heal itself, improve sleep, and increase feelings of well being.
How Can Biofeedback Help?
We marry Neuroscience with clinically proven and effective, holistic therapies. Research has shown that some individuals with eating disorder are often resistant and not as responsive to traditional talk therapy. We combine traditional talk therapy with effective techniques that will directly impact the subconscious, such as, EFT/Tapping, hypnosis, somatic therapy, play therapy, art therapy, etc. Using a combination of Neurofeedback or BRT with CBT, EFT, and so on, allows the nervous system to calm down and help the individual with an eating disorder move through therapy more effectively.
